THE PREPARATION OF MODIFIED RANEY ALLOYS FOR WATER ELECTROLYSIS PRODUCTION OF HYDROGEN

Modified Raney alloys were prepared from base metals in an induction f urnace under argon atmosphere and the intermetallic compounds were cha racterized by X-ray diffraction. Catalysts for production of hydrogen from water electrolysis were prepared from these alloys by electro-cod eposition of the alloy powder with nickel from a Watt's electroplating bath. A comparative kinetic study of the prepared catalysts classifie s them by their catalytic activity toward the production of hydrogen f rom water electrolysis.
