Abstract
Two hierarchies of nonlinear evolution equations, associated with the Schrodinger operator in the plane, are obtained. One contains the Vese lov-Novikov equation. Another one contains a 2 + 1 extension of some n onlinear Klein-Gordon-type equation in the 1 + 1 case.
