Abstract
Simplified schemes including new information about Borna disease and a symptomatic virus infections are given to the veterinary practitioner which may facilitate the differentiation between classical and atypica l clinical courses. New diagnostic schemes as well as proposals for di spatching appropriate material provide a quick diagnosis and can thus considerably contribute to valid data on the prevalence of this infect ion.
