An automated control system for a production process (ACS PP) of ionic
casehardening (CH) on the basis of the specialized ''Orion-4'' contro
l complex is discussed in the paper. The temperature of the charge of
components, the power of the glow discharge, the pressure, and the car
burizing and nitriding capacity of the production atmosphere ensures h
igh stability of casehardening results, the attainment of diffusion la
yers that are uniform over the profile of the component, and the presc
ribed degree of their saturation.
