Analytical methods for yoke magnetomotive force, magnetization current
and basic core loss calculation for induction motors with tangential-
fan acid multiplanar cores are suggested. Analytical relationships are
given which allow for a variable cross-section of yoke elements at th
e design stage. Comparison of calculated results with the results of n
umerical modelling of the magnetic field in the stator yoke for varyin
g saturation levels is given. Some recommendations are made for optimu
m stator yoke configuration selection and for the scope of analytical
relationships.
