Abstract
Phosphine exchange occurs rapidly between RuCl2(PPh(3))(n) (n = 3, 4) and Ru(C(5)H(4)PPh(2))(2) (dppr) at room temperature to give RuCl2(dpp r)(PPh(3)), 1. Triphenylphosphine is more substitutionally labile than dppr in 1; selective phosphine substitution of 1 with CO and CH3CN gi ves [RuCl2(CO)(dppr)] and two geometric isomers of [RuCl2(NCCH3)(2)(dp pr)] respectively.
