Abstract
The bleaching properties of a hydrothermal, Arkansas quartz are studie d in detail. The thermoluminescence (TL) and phototransferred TL (PTTL ) signals are examined as a function of wavelength, illumination time and temperature at which the sample is illuminated. We have also brief ly studied the effects of pre-irradiation annealing on the sample. The results of these experiments are described and their relevance to the models for TL is discussed.
