Ld. Quin, PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF THE CHEMISTRY OF METAPHOSPHATES AND OTHER TRANSIENT DIOXOPHOSPHORANES, Coordination chemistry reviews, 137, 1994, pp. 525-559
Practical laboratory procedures now exist for the generation of organi
c derivatives of metaphosphoric acid (KO-PO2), as well as for dioxopho
sphoranes (R-PO2). These methods are evaluated in this review. Althoug
h these substances are highly reactive and have but a fleeting existen
ce, they can nevertheless be employed as reactants in synthetic phosph
orus chemistry. The various applications that have been demonstrated i
n the literature are also discussed in this review.
