Abstract
An exact model calculation for band structure based on the one dimensi onal Kronig-Penney model including the local potential, induced by the monolayers is developed and compared to the conventional one, althoug h it is formulated to strained superlattices, it may be generalized to any abrupt strained heterostructures.
