Abstract
We report herein a patient with debilitating multisystem sarcoidosis. Interestingly, dermal lesions and enlarged lymph nodes resolved and he r clinical condition dramatically improved following removal of silico ne gel breast implants. Of note, the capsular tissue surrounding the b reast implant demonstrated a granulomatous foreign-body response. The potential harmful effects of silicone may include an acceleration of a n already existing hypersensitivity response.
