Aa. Paltsyn et al., INHIBITION OF GENERALIZED WOUND-INFECTION IN IMMUNIZED RATS, Bulletin of experimental biology and medicine, 117(5), 1994, pp. 547-549
The occurrence of the pyocyanic bacillus in the blood and spleen is co
mpared after intramuscular administration to intact and immunized anim
als. It is demonstrated that blood clearance is performed by transferr
ing the causative agent to splenic phagocytes. It is suggested that an
tibodies agglutinize the microorganisms in the primary focus of infect
ion and prevent their entry into the blood.
