Ac. Harndengillis et al., MODELING OF CESIUM RELEASE FROM LIGHT-WATER REACTOR-FUEL UNDER SEVEREACCIDENT CONDITIONS, Nuclear technology, 109(1), 1995, pp. 39-53
Several empirically based models of fission product release, recently
developed at various laboratories for severe reactor accident conditio
ns, have been compared with the measured cesium release from light wat
er reactor fuel in the VI series of experiments performed at the Oak R
idge National Laboratory. The models under consideration treat the und
erlying process of release by first-order kinetics or by classical dif
fusion theory. In addition, a state-of-the-art approach using an artif
icial neural network is evaluated.
