Conflicting evidence exists regarding the association between left-han
dedness and autoimmune disorders. Although the etiology of multiple sc
lerosis is unknown, it is commonly believed to be an automimmune disea
se. We compared handedness in 127 multiple sclerosis patients and age-
and sex-matched controls. No significant differences were observed. T
his study failed to support the association between multiple sclerosis
, an autoimmune disease, and left-handedness.
