Abstract
Semi-fluid procylanidin hydrogels based on cellulose derivatives (carb oxymethylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose) ada pted to anti-ulcer therapy, are prepared. The consistency is assessed by means of a method for calculating the spreading diameter measuremen t. This method is standardized and validated, evaluating the following validation characteristics : linearity of the spreading diameter and viscosity measurements as a function of the gelling agent concentratio n, linearity of the spreading diameter measurement as a function of th e viscosity, and precision (repeatability and reproducibility) of the spreading diameter and viscosity measurements.
