Abstract
Each of the four Dendrobium species contained 2n = 38 chromosomes in t heir root tip cells. Differences were observed regarding chromosome le ngth, type and TCL among 38 chromosomes of all the species. Longest ch romosome was observed in D. anosmum (3.33 mum) and the shortest one in D. crumenatum (1.00 mum). The chromosome formula (C.F.) indicated D. parishii as primitive one among these four species.
