Abstract
1. Four groups of 36 one-day-old broiler chicks were reared for 8 week s during summer on rice husk litter spread to depths of 20, 30, 40 or 50 mm. 2. The depth of the litter did not significantly affect live we ight gain, food consumption, food conversion ratio, liveability or pro duction number. 3. It was concluded that rice husks can be used as lit ter at depths of between 20 and 50 mm during summer to raise broilers without affecting performance.
