Rs. Berardi et al., PASTEURELLA-MULTOCIDA PERITONITIS ASSOCIATED WITH STRANGULATED SMALL-BOWEL OBSTRUCTION, Complications in surgery, 13(6), 1994, pp. 772
Peritonitis in humans caused by Pasteurella multocida is uncommon. A 6
5-year-old man with a history of ventral hernia had peritonitis, most
probably due to an incarcerated ventral hernia. Cultures of peritoneal
fluid grew P. multocida. As far as we know, this patient is the first
reported case of P. multocida peritonitis associated with strangulate
d small-bowel obstruction.
