The ratios of the cross sections for the formation of H+ and H2+ from
H-2 by the impact of fast fully stripped ions (C6+, O8+ and S16+) have
been measured at various incident projectile energies in order to und
erstand the projectile charge and energy dependence on two-electron pr
ocesses. The measured values have been corrected for the small contrib
ution from dissociative ionization through single electron process. A
comparison of the existing low charge projectile data with the present
measurements tends to show a universal scaling behaviour for projecti
le charge and velocity.
