Abstract
Exciton absorption lines are calculated for weakly disordered tight-bi nding systems, using the coherent-potential approximation (CPA). The s caled lineshapes depend only on the dimension of the system. The CPA r esults are compared with known exact results for chains, and numerical results for finite two- and three-dimensional systems.
