The structure of the capsular polysaccharide of the recently character ized type VI Group B Streptococcus (GBS) has been established using on e- and two-dimensional homo- and heterocorrelated H-1 and C-13 NMR Spe ctroscopy The native polysaccharide contains D-glucose, D-galactose an d sialic acid in the molar ratio 2:2:1.
