Sy. Guo et al., ANODIC GENERATION OF COMPOSITE HALOGEN REAGENTS AND THEIR APPLICATIONTO ORGANIC-REACTIONS, Denki Kagaku Oyobi Kogyo Butsuri Kagaku, 62(12), 1994, pp. 1179-1182
Composite iodine reagents (termed ''IB-, IC- and IF- reagents'' in thi
s article, and most likely polyiodohalide ions, I(m)X(n)-) with other
halogens (X: Br, Cl and F) were anodically generated by oxidation of m
ixtures of GAMMA and X- ions in CH2Cl2. The oxidizing and halogenating
powers of the reagents were examined in an ex-cell manner toward some
model organic compounds, and were found to be precisely controlled by
the amount of electricity passed and concentration ratio of X-/GAMMA
used on preparing them. A composite bromine reagent with fluorine was
also examined preliminarily.
