A model of the electrocatalytic layer based on dispersion of particles
in a solid polymeric electrolyte, taking into account the probability
nature of contact between electrocatalyst particles, is elaborated. U
sing the Monte Carlo method, percolation theory, and elaborated progra
ms of machine computation, dependences of the distribution of flowing
particles across the layer on the shape and size of particles are obta
ined. The values of the characteristic length of the process and the m
aximum working surface of the electrocatalyst are computed. The comput
ed data are shown to be in good agreement with the experimental data
