Abstract
To augment venous blood flow at Doppler ultrasonography (US) of the ex tremities, a device comprising a blood pressure cuff connected to an e xternal reservoir was tested. Constant and easily controlled pressure was delivered with each compression by the same operator performing US . In 10 patients (four men and six women, aged 54-86 years), discomfor t was reduced compared with discomfort during manual compression, whic h requires two operators.
