Abstract
This article defines the unique characteristics of acculturative stres s encountered by Hispanic immigrants and documents the need for rehabi litative services for this group. Implications for rehabilitation prac tice are identified, including the need for (a) family, group, and com munity-based interventions; (b) good client counselor relationships; a nd (c) attention to language needs.
