Abstract
Splenic injury after colonoscopy is rare, Only 15 cases previously hav e been reported in the English literature. Partial capsular avulsion i s the proposed mechanism of injury. Any condition causing increased sp lenocolic adhesions may be a predisposing factor to splenic injury. Tw o cases of splenic injury following colonoscopy are reported in additi on to a complete review of the literature.
