2-(Methylthio) pentafluoropropene was obtained by dehydrofluorination
of methyl 2H-hexafluoroisopropyl sulfide by the BF3.NEt(3) complex. It
s reactivity with respect to allyl alcohol and hexamethyldisilazane wa
s studied. The electrophilcity of 2-(methylthio)pentafluoropropene was
compared with the properties of terminal polyfluoroalkenes whose beha
vior in these reactions has been studied previously.
