Abstract
The influence of the chemical and textural properties of several alumi nium orthophosphates catalysts in the esterification of acetic acid wi th n-amyl alcohol is studied. The surface area but not the number of a cid site of the catalyst is the determinant property in the catalytic activity. The influence in the yield of the water present in the mediu m is analyzed.
