Four cases of caecocolic intussusception are described. Two horses (ca
se 1 and 4) were peroperatively euthanised for different reasons. The
two others were treated by ileocolostomy. Case 2 was followed over a p
eriod of more than one year and made a full recovery. Case 3 was eutha
nised during reoperation 1,5 month after the first intervention. A str
agulation of the jejunum through a mesenteric rent and postoperative a
dhesions were diagnosed. The clinical signs of ileocaecal intussuscept
ion and the technique for ileocolonic anastomosis are described.
