Jtw. Goh et al., LITHOTOMY POSITION-INDUCED FEMORAL NEUROPATHY, Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 34(5), 1994, pp. 596-597
Femoral neuropathy can occur following placement in the lithotomy posi
tion and has been rarely reported following vaginal hysterectomy. Cont
ributing factors to this condition include positioning of the patient,
duration of surgical procedure and glucose intolerance. The prognosis
of lithotomy position induced femoral neuropathy is excellent. An ill
ustrative case is herein reported.
