ON THE RECORD OF URNATELLA-GRACILIS LEIDY, 1851 (KAMPTOZOA) IN EAST SLOVAKIA, WITH REMARKS ON ITS ECOLOGY AND GEOGRAPHICAL-DISTRIBUTION

In potamoplankton samples of the river Tisza (East Slovakia) the autho r identified Urnatella gracilis Leidy (1851), the only extant freshwat er representative of Kamptozoa (= Entoprocta). He presents the morphol ogical characteristics of the colonies from the river Tisza and discus ses the species geographical distribution. He suggests, there is no un ambiguous evidence testifying that U. gracilis spread from North Ameri ca to other continents only recently.
