Abstract
The precision of ratio of (m + 1)/(m + 0) for determination of (1-C-13 )palmitic acid greatly improves if instead of monitoring molecular ion s 271 m/z/270 m/z of methyl palmitate, fragment ions of pentafluoroben zyl ester of palmitic acid are used. The ester group is eliminated in EI source, yielding positive ions suitable for the isotope enrichment determinations.
