MAGNETOCARDIOGRAPHIC LOCALIZATION OF VENTRICULAR PREEXCITATION IN A CHILD WITH A CONGENITAL HEART DEFECT

Magnetocardiographic mapping was performed on a 2-year-old boy who suf fered from the Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome in association with a co mplex congenital heart defect. The preexcitation site was determined n oninvasively from the measured cardiac magnetic fields. The location w as in the same anatomic region as found by intraoperative epicardial m apping. This result shows that magnetocardiography can be helpful for determining an accessory pathway also in patients with grossly abnorma l cardiac anatomy.
