A male infant with benign hemangiopericytoma of the right atrium is re
ported. His chief complaint was acute respiratory distress secondary t
o bloody pericardial effusion. Although the entire mass could not be r
emoved surgically, there was no recurrence of cardiac tamponade or gro
wth of the residual mass during a follow-up period of 3 years. This pa
tient is, to our knowledge, the youngest one with primary cardiac hema
ngiopericytoma so far reported.
