Abstract
20 children and adolescents suffering from the Werdnig-Hoffmann diseas e were tested by means of Wechsler's revised scale and Longeot's scale of logical thought. The results of the study showed that intellectual level and levels of logical reasoning were equal to - and even higher than - those of the control groups. Besides, these subjects had much more developed clause logic and combinative logic (respectively p <. 0 001 and p <. 03). This study showed that serious damage to motricity d oes not prevent the building of an efficient cognitive system.
