Abstract
Biological activity of insulin immobilized in a polymer hydrogel modif ied with a proteolytic enzymes inhibitor was examined in in vitro and in vivo studies. immobilization of insulin did not affect its biologic al activity. Oral administration of the immobilized insulin led to a r eliably reduced concentration of glucose in the blood of test animals. The efficiency of the orally administered preparation amounted to 80% of the efficiency of hypodermally injected native insulin.
