A numerical simulation of the second Hopf bifurcation in the wake of a
n infinite NACA 0012 wing at zero incidence is presented. This bifurca
tion is characterized by tile onset of three-dimensionality, i.e. of a
n oscillating spanwise velocity. The ratio of the the basic period of
oscillations appearing at this new bifurcation and that of the already
established transverse velocity oscillations as the result of the fir
st bifurcation is equal to two at various points of the flow.
