Abstract
A silver long-chain polyvanadate, AgVO3.H2O, has been obtained during attempts to produce single crystals of a silver cyclotetravanadate. Ag VO3.H2O is orthorhombic, P n m a, with Z = 4 and the following unit-ce ll dimensions: a = 7.147(2); b = 3.655(1), c = 15.763(8) Angstrom. The crystal structure of this new compound was performed by using 467 ref lections with a final R value of 0.037.
