With an incidence of 16-20 per 100 000, carcinoma of the bladder is th
e second most frequent urological tumor. Dependent on the tumor gradin
g, the early appearance of lymph node metastases is frequent. Hematolo
gical metastases occur in the later stages of disease. As a rule, hema
tological filialisation can be found in the skeleton, the lung and the
liver. We here report the unusual case of parathyroideal metastasis o
f transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. Following the case repor
t, the principles of the diagnostic procedure in case of metastatic ur
othelial cancer are outlined.
