Abstract
Postoperative monitoring of free flaps is critical to allow recognitio n of vascular compromise; early recognition is associated with improve d chances of nap survival when salvage is attempted in an expeditious manner. This article discusses a wide variety of techniques for monito ring flaps (both experimental and practical) and the salvage of compro mised flaps.
