Ch. Hui et C. Yee, THE SHORTENED INDIVIDUALISM-COLLECTIVISM SCALE - ITS RELATIONSHIP TO DEMOGRAPHIC AND WORK-RELATED VARIABLES, Journal of research in personality, 28(4), 1994, pp. 409-424
The internal structure of the INDividualism-COLlectivism (INDCOL) Scal
e, which was first developed for the American and Chinese population,
was examined. Confirmatory factor analyses raised about the original s
ix-factor model of the Scale. Subsequent principal component analyses
extracted five factors which could be further grouped under two second
-order factors. On the basis of the factor analytic results, the INDCO
L Scale was shortened. Individualism-collectivism (IC) as measured by
the revised INDCOL Scale was shown to be related to age, gender, job s
atisfaction, and work goals. (C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
