Jc. Commercon et M. Guivarch, CURRENT TRANSISTOR TRANSISTOR INDUCTOR OSCILLATOR, IEE proceedings. Circuits, devices and systems, 141(6), 1994, pp. 498-504
An original and very simple design of an oscillator is presented. It u
sed only three components: two transistors and one earthed inductor. T
he circuit gives a constant quasi-square output with a periodic time p
roportional to its input current. The oscillation modes, the oscillati
on conditions and the effects of nonideal devices are discussed, and s
ome simulated results are given. Next, a related design is discussed w
hich uses a short-circuited delay line in place of the inductor. Final
ly, the relation between frequency and current is shown along with the
temperature dependency for real implementations, and some possible ap
plications are suggested.
