Abstract
The morphological variation in the Mediterranean/SW Asia complex of Br omus madritensis L., B. madritensis L. subsp. kunkelii H. Scholz, B. r ubens L., B. haussknechtii Boiss., and B. flabellatus Boiss. is analyz ed by computer and the data discussed. The conclusion is that the enti re range of variation falls in one species with two subspecies: B. mad ritensis L. subsp. madritensis and B. madritensis L. subsp. rubens (L. ) Husnot.
