STUDY OF MORPHOLOGICAL AND MECHANICAL-PROPERTIES OF PP PBT BLENDS/

The synthesis of emulsifiers has been performed by the condensation of terephthaloyl chloride, butanediol and hydrogenated alpha-omega hydro xy polyisoprenes. The products are carefully characterized by H-1-nucl ear magnetic resonance (NMR), infra-red spectroscopy and size exclusio n chromatography. The PP/PBT blend, in a 60:40 ratio, was prepared wit h, and without, emulsifiers by melt-blending. The effect of these emul sifiers on mechanical properties and morphological studies of the PP/P BT blend was examined.
