Aj. Marcotte et M. Joyce, COMPUTERIZED ERGONOMIC ANALYSIS IN MANUFACTURING - A RESULTS-ORIENTEDAPPROACH FOR THE PRACTITIONER, The International journal of human factors in manufacturing, 5(1), 1995, pp. 87-98
For ergonomics to be effectively implemented within an organization, n
onspecialists in erogonomics organized in cross-functional teams need
the tools and the knowledge to perform. A worksite analysis and proble
m-solving process, assisted by computer programs, can enable the organ
ization's personnel to do the following: identify and prioritize the p
roblems; solve the problems, often with minimal cost; and document res
ults. This paper describes the use of ergonomics checklists and detail
ed ergonomics task analysis within the system. A case based on the com
puterized analysis illustrates the method. (C) 1995 John Wiley & Sons,
