In this paper, we describe a device used to measure the distance betwe
en an eddy-current proximity sensor and a metallic surface in front of
it. The goal is to restore the profile of the metallic surface. We pr
esent the different steps of this realization and the development of a
deconvolution algorithm. The deconvolution algorithm allows us to obt
ain a model of the device. It is also used to invert this model, there
fore allowing the restoration of the input signals corresponding to th
e degraded image of the profile of the metallic surface.
