Sarcoidosis of the bones in the hands and feet is not uncommon. Howeve
r, sarcoidosis involving the axial skeleton is unusual. The authors pr
esent the case of a 37-year-old man with sarcoidosis who developed low
-back pain. Radionuclide bone scan demonstrated abnormalities in the p
elvis, spine, and scapulae. A bone scan directed open biopsy of an abn
ormality in diagnostic tissue from the ilium.
