The present study deals with photoelectret effect, i.e. charge storage
in BaTiO3-CdO mixed systems as a function of various parameters such
as composition, charging time (t(pp)), time of dark-depolarization (t(
dd)), applied electric held (E), intensity of illumination (L) and exc
itation energy. A mixed system formed by BaTiO3 and CdO shows maximum
photoelectret charge (Q(ph)) for 80% BaTiO3 when exposed to white ligh
t. The photoe!ectret charge (Q(ph)) for 80% BaTiO3-20% CdO composition
continues to increase with electric field but decreases with dark-dep
olarization time. Also, the photoelectret charge for the above sample
increases and later tends to saturate with increasing intensity of ill
umination and charging time. The X-ray diffraction patterns of prepare
d samples do not show the formation of solid solutions.
