Abstract
-tetraacetyl-beta-D-glucopyranosyl)-3-thioglycerol as a mixture of two diastereomers was obtained by acylation of aacetyl-beta-D-glucopyrano syl)-3-thio-rac-glycerol with deuterium-labelled palmitoylchloride. Th e separation by repeated crystallization from metanol and the removal of the protecting groups gave lmitoyl-S-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-3-thio-s n-glycerol and mitoyl-S-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-1-thio-sn-glycerol.
