Twelve sesquiterpenes, seven phenylpropanoids, two sterols, one triter
pene, one diterpene and one polyacetylenic compound were identified fr
om the most polar fractions of the hexane extract of the aerial parts
of Seseli vayredamum. Twelve of them are new natural products: 1 beta-
senecioyloxy- 5 beta H,6 alpha H,7 alpha H,10 alpha Me,11 alpha H-eude
sm-3-en-6,12-olide, 1 beta-senecioyloxy-5 beta H,6 alpha H,7 alpha H,1
0 alpha Me,11 alpha H-eudesma-2,4(15)-dien-6,12-olide, 2 alpha-angeloy
loxy-5 beta-hydroxy-7 alpha H,10 beta Me-eudesm-3-en-1-one, 8 alpha-an
geloyloxy-10 beta-hydroxy-slov-3-en-6,12-olide, 10 beta-hydroxy-8 alph
a-senecioyloxy-slov-3-en-6,12-olide, 2-oxo-8 alpha-senecioyloxy-5 beta
H,6 alpha H-guai-1(10) 3,7(11)-trien-6,12-olide, 8 beta-angeloyloxy-2
-oxo-5 beta H,6 alpha H-guai-1( 10),3,7(11)-trien-6,12-olide, 2-oxo-8
beta-senecioyloxy-5 beta H,6 alpha H-guai-1(10),3,7(11)-trien-6,12-oli
de, 10 beta-acetoxy-8 alpha-angeloyloxy- 3 beta-hydroxy-1 beta H,6 alp
ha H,7 alpha H,11 alpha H-guai-4-en-6,12-olide, erythro-1 xy-3',4'-met
hylenedioxy-5'-methoxy-1-phenylpopane, xy-3',4'-methylenedioxy-5'-meth
oxy-1-phenylpropane and 4'-methylenedioxy-2',5'-dimethoxy-1-phenylprop
ane. Their structures were established by spectroscopic methods and ch
emical correlations.
