Abstract
Relationship between structure regularity and the propagation loss of Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) film waveguides was investigated. The LB film wi th a homogeneous surface morphology could be constructed from the mech anically stable monolayer prepared by the multi-step creep method. The propagation loss of the LB film waveguide was decreased by the surfac e flatness of the LB film.
